Hire Me for SEO

I’ve been doing SEO consulting for nineteen years. I’ve worked with local service businesses, B2B SaaS companies, e-commerce stores, and everything in between. I’ve seen every flavor of “SEO strategy” come and go — and I have a pretty clear sense by now of what actually compounds and what just burns budget.

Here’s what working with me looks like.

Who I Work With

I work best with businesses that have something real to say — a genuine point of view, real expertise, a track record they can point to. That’s not gatekeeping. It’s just that the SEO I do is built around surfacing what’s already there. If there’s nothing there, no amount of technical optimization will manufacture it.

My clients tend to be:

  • Small to mid-sized businesses that have been doing okay without SEO and want to build a real foundation
  • Service businesses (local and regional) that need to own their market online the way they already own it in person
  • Consultants, agencies, and practitioners who want a content and authority strategy that doesn’t require them to play a game that’s already rigged
  • Companies that have tried SEO before, got burned by churn-and-bill retainers, and want to understand what they’re actually paying for

What I Actually Do

I don’t outsource the thinking. When you hire me, you get me — not a junior analyst running a template audit and calling it strategy.

My work typically covers:

  • Technical SEO audits and fixes — crawlability, internal linking, site structure, Core Web Vitals, structured data. The foundation everything else sits on.
  • Content strategy rooted in real conversations — I haven’t started a keyword project in six months without beginning with an interview or direct session with a subject matter expert. Tools validate. Conversations originate.
  • Link building that earns, not buys — editorial relationships, community involvement, podcast guest appearances, and barnacle SEO across platforms Google and LLMs already trust.
  • Podcast-powered authority building — the model I run on my own three shows, adapted for your business. One conversation generates content, links, mentions, and entity presence simultaneously. More on that here.
  • AI visibility — getting your brand into the third-party conversation that LLMs synthesize when deciding who to recommend. This is the same work as traditional SEO, done with a different map of where the signals flow.

What I Don’t Do

I don’t do paid link placements. I don’t do AI-generated content farms. I don’t do six-month retainers where the deliverable is a monthly report you have to squint at to find the value.

I also don’t take on clients I can’t actually help. If what you need is a technical fix on a large e-commerce platform, I’ll tell you that and point you somewhere better. I’d rather lose the engagement than waste your time and mine.

How to Get Started

The first conversation is always a diagnostic. I want to understand what you’ve got, what you’ve tried, what’s broken, and what a win actually looks like for your business. Most of the time I can tell you something useful in that first call — even if we don’t end up working together.

If you want to see the software layer I’ve built on top of this methodology, that’s at SEO Arcade. If you want to understand my thinking before we talk, the Unscripted SEO Podcast is nineteen years of how I see the industry, one conversation at a time.

If you’re ready to talk: use the contact page and tell me what you’re working on. I read everything and respond to everyone who gives me something real to work with.
